Death for Lying To The Holy Ghost?

Have you ever lied to the Holy Spirit?

What does that mean? Why is it such a serious issue?

We are entering into a time of judgment and

testing of the faith of the saints of God. Christians are going to be tried in their faithfulness to Christ.

"For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God…"

I Peter 4:17

"I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich…" Revelation 3:18

The significance of the book of Acts is that it demonstrated the power of God to save through the bold preaching of God's Word, powerful demonstration of miracles, signs, and wonders worked at the hands of the apostles by the power of The Holy Spirit. With the presence and power of The Holy Spirit, which is The Kingdom of God, came also judgment, a subject that many Christians fail to preach, mention, or even suggest is necessary to God's plan. Judgment is to set things right according to God's righteousness and divine order.

One of the serious judgments that took place in the Bible was concerning Sapphira and Ananias. Sapphira was the wife of Ananias, and with her husband she entered a conspiracy that resulted in their physical death. (Acts 5) They had sold a field of their possession and hypocritically pretended to bring the full value obtained to the apostles, as other Christians in Jerusalem were doing to meet the emergency that resulted after Pentecost of 33 C.E. Peter confronted them separately, and because each had allowed for the devil to influence them against telling the truth, willfully lied to The Holy Spirit, causing them both to die instantly.

But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. Acts 5:3-‬6

Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” Acts 5:9

Why was what they told Peter equivalent to lying to The Holy Ghost? I make known to believers, through my bold prophecy and judgment ministry, that the saints of God are God's government as carriers of The Holy Ghost. And our response to the saints led by The Spirit is directly equated to our dealings with The Holy Spirit. This is also why I tell people to #GoAskGod about everything. It is important for believers to KNOW how to seek God and hear from Him. Failing to do so can put us in a compromising situation that can lead to sickness and even death.

Someone will ask, "what made this such a serious issue"? Well, in short, it compromises the integrity of The Holy Ghost, because we are carriers of His Spirit. And this was a deliberate attempt to portray a commitment that was not true, nor was it required. Ananias and Sapphira had a right to keep ALL their money and give none. Instead, they held back money and acted as though they had given all.

God is serious about integrity, honesty, and humility. None of us are expected to be perfect in our walk with Christ, but to be honest and faithful as He constantly works in and through us to bring about His plan, purpose, and image. Lying TO The Holy Ghost and faking our faith and commitment is of the flesh, led by Satan, and if not addressed with that couple would have compromised the holiness of the church and corrupted many. Satan always looks for a foothold into the church, and thus entices Christians to portray false representations of themselves for self-glory. How many Christians are walking around boasting about being something or doing something without truly operating accordingly? Might God send another severe warning to the church today, using someone who purposely deals false or assists someone in the same? The death would be just as sudden, but would get the attention of others.

Lying TO The Holy Ghost is also lying ON Him. As children of God, we are to be led by The Spirit.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Romans 8:14

God has ONE family. And we will be united ONLY by The Spirit of Truth. And whoever does not walk in truth is a liar.

If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? I John 4:20
